Edit Mode in an Excel Spreadsheet

When you are working on an Excel spreadsheet, there will be times when you will want to edit a cell that already has data in it. If you just click on the cell and type the contents of that cell will be replaced. But what if you don’t want to replace everything? Maybe you misspelled a word. To enter “edit” mode you can double click on the cell and a flashing cursor will appear in the cell. You can now navigate, using your arrow keys, to the exact spot within the cell to correct your mistake. When you have made your correction simply click anywhere else in the spreadsheet or tap the enter key on your keyboard.

There is another way to get into “edit” mode. Click on the cell you want to edit and then tap the F2 key on your keyboard. The flashing cursor appears in the cell, and you can now navigate, using your arrow keys, to the exact spot within the cell to correct your mistake. When you have made your correction simply click anywhere else in the spreadsheet or tap the enter key on your keyboard.

And that’s it!
